Remington R-600 MicroFlex 600 Titanium Shaving System

Customer Review :

A blot on the Remington name

This is sadly a dreadful cheap shaver. Target was selling it for half price, and now I know why. After a lengthly first shave with way too much tugging/pulling of hair, I opened it to find some cheap brass-looking cutting heads that aren't very sharp. Contrasting it to past shavers and a new Norelco I just bought to replace this, the heads are very poor. Add to that an awkward triangular body shape that is an irritant to hold while moving around the face, an LED 'low charge' indicator that looks like it is on when it isn't, and when the charge is low it doesn't slow down it just abruptly stops. I wish I'd returned it immediately, but used it for nearly a month and my opinion of it remains the same. After a more careful search I've replaced it with a Norelco 7180XL which goes for about the same price, and it is clearly superior (with a full review to come later). The best thing I can say about the R600? It was easy to remove from its plastic packaging, far easier than many products.

I'm not sure how long Remington thinks it can sell a product like this without permanently damaging their reputation, but as another reviewer said this is my last Remington product.

Remington R 600 Microflex Cordless Men's Shaver

At a reasonable price, the shaver works well, much better than the Braun we used to own.

No cut shaver

The shaver cut worse then the one I have at home with worn out blades. I sent it back to the manufacture and told them of the problem. They sent it back to me. I will never buy a Remington brand product again.

Excellent Product!

I've had three Panasonic shavers. The first one had two cutter heads, cost $40 and was satisfactory. When Panasonic came out with a three head model for $80 I thought it would be better -- and it was. I really liked it but I dropped it and it broke. By then they had introduced their new "Vortex" super duper shaver which I paid $140 for and expected it would be even better than the predecessors. That was a mistake.

The $140 Panasonic "Vortex" was a complete clunker. It pulled, it left long hairs behind and it never worked in the curve of the neck and around the nose. It came with a cleaning "system" that I used only once because it didn't clean the shaver half as well as a manual rinsing did.

After about six months of use the "Vortex" started up by itself at 3AM, woke me up and wouldn't turn off. I sent it in for warranty service, which took three weeks. About six months later (yesterday)it did the same thing. So I tossed it.

Having learned that the price of a shaver doesn't ensure quality, I picked up the Braun 4775 at Target for $60. I've just used it for the first time and I am impressed! This is an excellent product in every aspect; it is superbly designed and built (typical German quality) and it's been a while since shaving has been this comfortable and close.

I didn't realize how accustomed I'd become to the "Vortex" pulling at every stroke. This Braun didn't pull once and it did a perfect job on the neck and around the nose.

I recommend this shaver very highly. Well worth its competitive price.

Ok shaver

The charge last for about 3 or 4 shaves for me. It takes a little to long for me to shave with it. I'm not sure if I like the smartfoil or not. When I'm finished and I wash my face I seem to really notice where I missed. Then I have to let my face dry and shave over the missed spots. I also have to press a bit to hard in some spots. Does ok on the neck. It doesn't irritate my skin which I like. Over all it is a good quality shaver with an ok shave.

Questions & Answers
Question : Shaving....?
i have many questions 1.is it better to shave in the shower or when your legs are dry 2.is it ok to use soap for shaving cream...if so what kind of soap? 3.if you use Nair will your hair grow back quickly and THICK? 4.is it ok to use "guy" razors 5.how long does it usually take before razors get dull?

Answer:
1)the awnser is by far shave when you're legs are wet. Dry shaving is never good. It cuts skin easier, doesn't shave as closly and causes razor burn. 2)soap is fine. Any kind will work. There are some body washes [one i have that's just a random brand from walmart] that says "replace for you're everyday shaving gel" When I'm out of gel/cream and don't have a lot of time I actually use foam hand soap [sounds weird but just for a quick touch up or if i'm wearing capris it works.] 3)I use nair. Actually no it doesn't. For me it's just like the commertials, the hair grows back lighter. When you use nair it [i don't really know what it does techincly] dissolves the hair folical somewhat so that it comes back softer and less noticable [like when you first get hair on you're legs] instead of comming back thick and noticable when you shave [because you are just cutting it shorter, not really dissolving it you know?] 4) It's probably not as good as a girls razor. Guy razors are more for facial and girls are more for legs/underarms so i'm sure there's a slight difference in how they are built. 5) Um.. ahh I read an exact date. I can't remember. I think it's every few weeks? I read it a long time ago but I have no clue where I would find the awnser now.

Question : What is the best shaving products for women?
What do you think is the best razor and shaving cream for women? I want to get a new one but dont know what to get.

Answer:
I'm a big fan of the "Intuition" by Schick. It's got it's own soap bar surrounding the razor head so you don't need shaving cream!

Question : How to make shaving pubic hair better?
I've just shaved my hair downstairs andnow its become really sore and spotty. I did it in the shower with shaving foam Any tips to get it better?

Answer:
Always use an aftershave lotion for sensitive skin twice a day for 2-3 days after shaving.

Question : What is the best shaving lather cream to use with a DE razor?
I use a double edge merkur razor. I am wondering what the best Pre-shave, After shave and lather is to use fpr my shaving.

Answer:
Im sure that any shaving cream you choose will be acceptable and work just as well as any other.

Question : what age do males start shaving everyday?
I am 17 and I only shave like once a week to a week and a half and I can;t grow good facial hair. Mine is so scraggly and patchy, its just like dark peach fuzz in certain spots. What age do men start shaving the face like on a regular basis, and what age does the hair become full and thick?

Answer:
It varies from guy to guy. I was in the 6th grade and already had a moustache. I know several men in their 40's who only shave every other day. We're all different.

Question : What is the appropriate age for girls to start shaving?
I'm turning 14 at October 10 and I want to shave my legs. I asked my mom about it and she told me to look up the appropriate age to start shaving in the internet. Thanks.

Answer:
I started at about 14. I think really you should only do it if you need because you know that in most cases it comes back darker? Try using a hair removal cream because that way you can avoid getting a shaving rash.

Question : What is the quickest way to heal shaving rashes and red bumps?
I have a few red bumps and rashes on my skin from shaving and I would like to heal most of them up within the next day or two. Is there anything I can do to help speed the healing process up?

Answer:
exfolition with a loofa and antibacterial soap

Question : What can I do with sensitive skin and shaving?
I have always had very sensitive skin. When I shave I get tiny little bumps on my legs - mainly my thighs. It's really embarrassing! Are there any alternatives besides waxing? I use shaving gel, even the kind for sensitive legs, but it doesn't seem to help.

Answer:
Shaving gel is a gimmic. I don't have sensitive skin, but it's very dry and I've found even the best shaving cream for dry, sensitive skin does nothing but dry my skin out even more. Exfoliate your skin first to get rid of any bumps from dry, dead skin building up. This also helps with ingrown hairs...My husband doesn't shave his legs, never has, but I notice his thighs have a lot of ingrown hairs and exfoliating helps get rid of them. Use a thick, moisturizing conditioner instead of shaving cream. It's thick enough to protect your legs plus it moisturizes as well. And make sure you have a new razor too...the newer the razor, the fewer the knicks and cuts. You don't want the water to be too hot. This can dry your skin out, and even if it's sensitive...this can make it more sensitive. It's also better to shave after the skin has been soaking for a while. So if you have a bathtub...just lay in there and relax in the warm-mildly hot water for 10 or 15 minutes, then shave.

Question : Why does shaving make your hair grow back longer and darker?
Why does shaving make your hair grow back longer and darker? I used to shave off my body hair because I wanted more of my tan to show, but I got tired of all the bumps I got on my skin. I just now stick to tanning, but I noticed that my hair is growing back longer and darker. Why does shaving do this?

Answer:
It doesnt, its a myth. It just looks like it. Dont believe me? Look it up online =D

Question : What is the best stuff to use for shaving legs?
What is the best stuff to use for shaving? I have sensitive skin when it comes to shaving my legs. I use stuff during and after. It doesn't matter what gel or lotion I use, I always get really bad razor burn. They are not old razors. I always use them new. I have even tried the quatro women serious and still gives me razor burn. I'm not pushing hard or anything. I never had this problem as a teenager. Now in my early twenties experiencing this. Anyone have any good advice?

Answer:
