Love This Shaver

I have owned several electric shavers over my lifetime(63 yrs). I find this shaver one of the best. Change the blades and foil once every six months and you will enjoy a shave as close to a blade as possible.

I love the self cleaner, it works flawlessly. You DO NOT NEED to clean the shaver daily, twice a week is just fine and it saves money on the cleaning solution which costs about $5 a bottle depending on where you buy it. My solution lasts me approximately 8-10 cleanings, it will tend to evaporate over time.

I have never had any problems with shavings being spilled over or any mess from using this cleaning system except once when my wife knocked it over and the solution spilled out. I now put it on a nice flat serface away from the sink or where it would be in anyones way.

I highly recommend this shaver to anyone who likes electrics and especially people who take medications that cause excessive bleeding as this shaver is smooth and does not cause facial nicks such as flat head shavers do.

It is a winner.

I have tried several electric shavers and always went back to blades because I was not satisfied with the results. However this shaver is different. It does shave as close as a blade.
I am very happy with it and highly recommend.

This razor is not for you

I chose this razor due to its self cleaning feature and guarantee to cut very close. Reviews prior to the purchase were excellent and it received high marks. Styling was attractive (compact and light - albeit flimsy compared to other brands in my opinion). It had plastic chrome with a rubber feel wrap/trim. To disassemble the foil from the unit to expose the blades was easy but putting it back took a bit more time to do correctly.

The unit could be charged in a docking station or through a plug.

It comes with a case, foil cover and brush. The power indicator was good although I really never depended upon it on a frequent basis (it was always being charged except for one 7 day trip). I have to say that the battery life was good (lasting 7 days without a charge). When the energy runs low, it doesn't have enough juice like the Panasonic Linear that it replaced. Operation is simple and the buttons are responsive.

The trimmer is quite effective and one of the only features to stand the test of time.

This was not a wet/dry shaver to my dismay (despite the 'wet cleaning solution'). You also had to be careful not to tip the base over or you would spill the solution on the vanity (not safe). I was shocked at how loud the 'cleaning process' was and how long it took (it must take 5-10 minutes which is excessive - and ineffective). It also tended to drop beard clippings all over the place (sink, vanity and floor) - messy...messy thing!

The case is big - a bit too big and the compartments are too confusing to see what goes where (the plug on one side and the shaver in the other?). It is a bit bulky for a 'travel' shaver, too.

THE HONEYMOON:
When I first used this shaver, I was impressed with how well and how close of a shave I received. It was truly as close as a real blade. It was one of the noisiest shavers I have ever used.

THE BATTLES:
After a month, I noticed it was not cutting as close but I put up with it.

However, despite the refilling of cleaning solutions and daily 'cleaning', I found that it was not cutting very close, at all, towards the 8-9 months of use. I never bothered to replace the blades since I had used Norelco's (2), 1 Braun and Panasonics (2 Linear) with no problems like this. Was this a function of rapidly deteriorating blades or an ineffective cleaning system?

Given the price, I would have expected this to be a wet/dry shaver which limited its versatility (it was replacing a 2nd generation Panasonic Linear). This was my 5th electric razor since I started shaving - and sadly one of the worst.

The 'cleaning system' consists of a small filter and volatile/oily cleaning solution that needs to be replaced monthly. Cleaning this unit is quite messy and I found that the blades still had lots of stubble despite cycling through a cleaning cycle. I find this to be the least effective methods of cleaning (nice concept and in theory). I hope this 'fad of self contained cleaning solutions' fades away.

IN THE END:
I even resorted to 2 months of using a disposable razor because of it. However, after two months of using a disposable, I bought a Panasonic Arc Shaver, exclusively from Sharper Image (look in the near future for a review on this model).

SUMMARY:
As for now, this shaver gets 2 thumbs up (out of 5 thumbs). I do not recommend this unit, at all. It is a poor value (for cost and maintenance) and a product of poor engineering. The thing that really sold me at the beginning (in addition to such poorly earned stellar reviews) was the name (to which it did not live up to - Titanium). It should have been named iron (to parallel rust) or silver (to parallel the tarnishing).

I do not recommend a 'self cleaning unit' that uses solution like this (especially, if you have pets or small children or careless cleaning ladies) from ANY manufacturer. The effectiveness of a close shave was short-lived.

NOT RECOMMENDED.

Questions & Answers
Question : What is the best product to use for shaving my vaj?
I usually just shave it with a razor and shaving cream, but I always get bad razor burn. My skin is EXTREMELY sensitive. What could I use to shave down there? And where can I get the stuff? And I need cheap stuff, nothing too expensive. Thanks so much!

Answer:
Kootchie Kream (sp?) and a good razor. Next to that, Aveeno shave gel.

Question : How do I prevent skin irritation on my neck from shaving?
I have to shave each day for work, so shaving every second day isn't an option. Right now I'm using a Mach 3. I've tried using Neutrogena Razor Defense and Nivea after shave sensitive balm, but the results aren't what I want.

Answer:
This is the best solution I found after much experimentation. First massage skin very thoroughly with an essential oil(olive , coconut, almond are very good) Then apply shaving cream on top. I actually do not like shaving creams so I use body lotion. Then shave. No matter how close you shave you will not get any rritation or razor burn. You will not need any after shave balms or whatever. They simply don't help, are expensive and a waste of money. If you massage skin with oil frequently it will greatly benefit it and make it not so sensitive. Question : What causes an electric shaver to pull hairs out instead of shaving the hairs?
I have a Norelco ladies shaver that started pulling hairs out instead of shaving the hairs like it's supposed to. The shaver is clean and the battery charge is perfect. The shaving foil doesn't look worn. What may cause a shaver to start pulling hairs out? Does it have anything to do with the shaving foil or the cutter block or something else? I'd hate to buy a new shaving foil and cutter block only to find out that the shaver is still pulling hairs...then I've lost money on replacement parts. Thanks for any help. My shaver is not new, and so it makes sense that the blades are not as sharp as they once were. Sometimes the shaver actually shaves hair, and sometimes it pulls hair.

Answer:
Dull blades will pull hair, increases risk of ingrown hairs, and just don't do the job.

Question : Why does shaving make your hair grow back longer and darker?
Why does shaving make your hair grow back longer and darker? I used to shave off my body hair because I wanted more of my tan to show, but I got tired of all the bumps I got on my skin. I just now stick to tanning, but I noticed that my hair is growing back longer and darker. Why does shaving do this?

Answer:
It doesnt, its a myth. It just looks like it. Dont believe me? Look it up online =D

Question : What is a good non aerosol shaving cream for dry, sensitive skin that is prone to shaving irritation?
My all-time favorite shaving product, Edge Active Care Deep Hydrating Shave Cream, has been discontinued. I am desperate to find a worthy replacement that will minimize bumps and irritation. I also need something that will not dry my skin out. No aerosol cans, please. Reasonable price, under $10, is a plus.

Answer:
try aveeno products. http://www.aveeno.com/segmentAction.do?segid=1006&catid=1001 They are great products and the bottoms of their bottles do not leave rust rings on your tub.

Question : What razor to use when shaving male pubic hair?
What razor should I use when shaving pubic hair? I read online that female razors is the best way to go, and to not use an electric razor. The only problem is that I do not own a female razor, and I would feel pretty weird if I went up to a local store and purchased a female razor. Any advice?

Answer:
you can use anything

Question : How old do you have to be to start shaving your facial hair?
I only have hair on my stache, is it a good idea to shave only there? What are some pros and cons in shaving early and at a younge age? When i say "younge age" i mean early teens. What should i use to shave such as a one bladed razer or three bladed? Any good company that has good shaver? What makes a good shaver? Will my skin be erritaded by shaving? Do you have any tips on shaving? Should i wait until i'm older to shave or shave now? What's the best type of shaver? Whats the best type of shaving cream? The hair is very visible. And will my skin be effected in any way? Is it better to shave up and down or across?

Answer:
I started shaving when I was about 15. When you should start depends on genetics really. Some males just have more hair than others, and they start developing facial earlier or later. Shaving will irritate your skin at first. My suggestion is to use a hot, moist towel on your face before you begin shaving. This will open up your pores, and make the hairs stand up. Then carefully shave with a razor. I use a razor with 3 blades, but it really doesn't matter. Any razor will do as long as you don't hurry. Shave with the grain of your hair. I get a better result shaving downwards, but you can shave upwards too. After you finish shaving, wash your face with cold water. This closes off the pores in your skin and prevents irritation. Then finish off by splashing your face with a mild after shave. This kills any germs and prevents those little red bumps. I hope this helped you out.

Question : What are the risks of shaving a German Shepherd dog?
I have two beautiful German Shepherds, both 12 years old now, which I brush daily. I enjoy the brushing and love my dogs. A friend of mine wants to buy a Shepherd and shave him to control shedding. I am really upset with her. Told her that she should not buy a Shepherd if she is going to shave him and that she should consider another breed. She insists that shaving is not only OK but recommended by Vets. Am I wrong or is she?

Answer:
You are absolutely right. Long haired, double coated dogs do not need to be shaved.....ever. Unless the dog has passed the point of no return in the matting department, the best type of grooming for these dogs is a vigorous undercoat raking with a special tool that helps remove the undercoat, a bath, and a blow dry to help separate the hair. The guard hairs on the top that do not shed out provide protection against the rays of the sun, and actually insulate the dog from the heat. Dogs left with just the undercoat WILL shed. It may shed shorter hair, but it will still shed. Sometimes the hair will NOT grow back. The older the dog, the less likely the guard hairs will regrow. The undercoat will regrow, but the upper hair sometimes does not. Skin that is damaged by UV rays that they would not otherwise be exposed to, can take a long time to heal, and the dog may have scaling and dandruff for quite some time after the hair has regrown. Unless she wants to shave the dog for medical reasons she should consider another breed. GSDs shed. That's something that needs to be considered and accepted. In my opinion the cons far outnumber the pros.

Question : Does shaving a mustache really make it grow faster?
I'm thinking about shaving it to make it grow faster, but I don't know if that will work. I'm a teen, and don't have much of a mustache and I don't want to lose what little I have. Will shaving it actually make it grow faster? And if so, how long will it take to grow?

Answer:
shavin it doesnt make it grow faster just darker and thicker. since it darker and thicker u notice it faster making it seem like it is growing faster
