Questions & Answers
Question : What does this hamster body language really mean?
I have two dwarf hamsters, both are 1.5 year old. I like to watch them grooming cos its so fun and cute. My fav is to see them rubbing their head with paws, before that, they even rubbing paws swiftly as if applying oil on it, lol. Well, I was checking out their body languages for fun and noticed one said thats its actually an act of tenderness. I wonder what does it really mean? I always take it as a usual cleaning and grooming though.

Answer:
I've always been told by my eldest brother- he's 29 and used to keep loads of rodents, snakes, etc.- that it means their happy. My hamsters always seem to be grooming themselves, so their obviously happy then.

Question : im getting my first horse soon n there are afew questions id like to ask about grooming?
1. how often do you groom a field kept horse? 2. how often do you need to wash there tail 3. to brush the main and tail do you use a main comb or a body brush? 4. do you need to oil the hoofs? 5. do you need a water brush? 6. do you need to strap your horse?

Answer:
You need to grrom a field kept horse very little as it removes the natural oil in their coat - which protects them against the elements! If they are muddy - make sure you grrom properly where tack will go - other than that just remove the mud with a Dandy brush! Tails dont need to be washed often - if they look dirty really! You can use a body brush or mane comb, although a mane comb is used to help plait rather than grooming. A Dandy brush is also good for mane and tail! Hoof oil is one of those things that can be pretty pointless in the winter - I used to do it every now and then to keep condition - and when showing as it looks noce! I have never used a water brush in my life - apart from to clean my boots! You will need sponges though! It is almost impossible to strap a horse with winter coat! It was something I used to do in the summer as it is the only time you can bring up the shine on a short summer coat! Just to clarify strapping, its when you use a body brush and groom really well, with lots of strokes, you also use a metal curry comb to get the dust out of the body brush as you go along! Best of luck!

Question : I took my my silky terrier to petco for grooming?
It's been 4 days now and he has not stopped wimppering. He shivers uncontrollably all the time, i thought he was cold, even bought a sweater...still he shakes. I have checked his body for pain and he doesn't have any, yet it's almost as if they've switched my dog?

Answer:
It may just be a coincidence that he started acting this way after his visit to petco for grooming. Maybe a visit to the vet is in order since it has been going on now for 4 days. There may be something physically wrong with him that needs medical attention.

Question : My cocker spaniel has a lot of lipomas all over his body. How to get rid of them?
Had already surgery - removed about 60 bumps, but in some months they came back and even more. Hard to groom and itchy. May be there are some medications? Help. ( He is 10 yo)

Answer:
The only way to get rid of them is surgery. However, they always come back. Unless you want to have the dog keep getting surgery, just live with them. There is NO medication for them.

Question : What is your most essential thing in your grooming kit?(Just a "fun" Question)?
Mine is my Jelly Scrubber! I use the wider ridged side to give my horse a bath(with soap) and the finer ridged side to curry my horse, and it's soft enough to use on his body, face and legs and get all the loose hair off too! It's my favorite thing! What's yours? :]

Answer:
Favorite thing is the hard brush because I'm lazy and only use that if the horse isn't dirty

Question : what's the best mens's personal grooming (body hair) accessory?

Question : You cut your dog whilst grooming in the testicle or vaginal area. Bleeding heavily. What would you do?
This is a question for a dog grooming course I'm doing. Describe fully what you would do in this situation? Cut the dog with scissors. Bleeding heavily in testicle or vaginal area? I know their are preasure points for bleeding in certain areas. I dont know which pressure point I would use for bleeding in this area. Does a dog bleed more in this area then lets say, maybe a cut else where on the body.

Answer:
Well I'm sure there's a specific area to stop such bleeding, but I worked as a vet tech for a couple years, with any cut, I would have to say to put pressure on the wound until the bleeding stops... and sugar? You can't really say that. S*** happens, and not every animal is a perfect customer. Dogs/cats wiggle, get upset, bark, get excited, and yes, as a pro you will be more inclined to not cut the animal per experience, but there are never guarantees.

Question : to college girls: which parts of his body should a guy shave?
looking for grooming tips.

Answer:
Just his face!!! Any other part seems odd to me for a guy to shave...but to each their own! I don't want a guy to be as girly as I am!

Question : Male body hair grooming:how much to do?
I have seen some hairy men who have shaved off bits of their body hair leaving the rest around it untrimmed and it looks awful. No subtlety at all. Yet chest hair can get straggly and messy looking and could benefit form trimming the way models do in magazine adverts. I do not like the idea of loads of lotions: for girls that is fine. Have you seen a man with aface that has had scrubs etc? Looks unmanly. Has anyone got a good system for trimming short chest hair to keep it looking good? Whay do you think nshoudl be shaved, what should be trimmed? I'd lvoe to have a thick pubic bush , would not shave that. What do models do? sorry, spell check is not very literate

Answer:
You can just simply use hair clippers to trim your chest hair on a number 2 or 3 depending on your chest hair length. I use it to trim my underarm hair too, that gets messy, so trimming gets rid of the deodorant that you can't wash out (I shower every day before anyone mentions it). I cannot see the attraction of shaving your pubes. It looks so effeminate - who wants to look like a pre-pubescent boy again - not me for one. As for making it look thicker I'm up for tips on that one too. I use a razor to shave me nads and never had a problem with itchy b***s. I agree though who want "sculptured body hair it's not like we're trying to get the effect of a topiary garden is it?
