No problems with the 3612

Just read the previous review re: cutter block coming apart. I've had mine for years. I take off the cutter assembly all the time for cleaning. It's never broken on me. It's a good basic electric shaver.

Bad design, foil/cutter block continue to break

I bought this razor to replace a braun razor I had used for 20 years. The rechargeable battery in the old razor finally gave out and it was going to cost me more to replace it than I would pay for a new razor. So I figure why not get a new one. Well... I got the new razor, a model 3612, and after about 2 weeks, a part fell out of the cutter block while cleaning it. I figured I was too rough with cleaning, so I ordered a new one (almost as much as the razor) well.. it breaks the same way. I called Braun and all they would do would be to send me another foil/cutter block. I asked if they had no intention of standing behind their product and they said only to the extent of sending me another cutter block just like the 2 I had already been through. I would NOT buy any razor from this 3600 series again and I would NOT recommend anyone else buying one either.

Body hair on men, good or bad? How should it be groomed?

Answer:
none - back sack and crack baby, thats the best way to see to it. waxing is the best way to keep body hair at bay, painful but worth it ;-)

Question : What are the best deshedding tools for grooming dogs.?
Okay, I admit it, I can get into the propaganda thing! Brutus, my newfie, can produce a houseful of shedding in one minute. Okay, that might be a slight exaggeration. I've seen this furminator things. They cost a lot. My last furbaby (lab/shep/? mix) didn't have a double coat so he only needed occassional grooming. (Although we pretty much did it daily because he who held the brush is was loved.) Brutus needs daily grooming. Sometimes, twice daily. Can anyone recommend good grooming tools to reduce the hair. If this furminator really a good thing? What about other tools? The name "furminator" puts in mind a bald dog shivering the cold and having all fur terminated on his body. gasp.

Answer:
A newfie not only has a double coat, they have a long double coat. In order to remove the loose hair, you need tools that will get literally "to the bottom of things" and enable you to brush out the coat from down at skin level. I would suggest 3 tools: First, a matbreaker or an undercoat rake. If the dog has any matted areas, or spots where the coat is so thick it seems too dense to get through, the matbreaker is probably best. If the coat is in good shape, a rake will help remove the dead undercoat. Work from the skin out and literally break up the dense areas or matted coat. Work methodically through every inch of the dog, usually starting with the back quarters and working forward. Use your hand to part the hair in lines as you go, so you can easily keep track of what areas you've brushed. Second, use a slicker brush. For a newfie's coat, the Franks Univerasal slicker in size Large is probably best. The pins on these professional grade brushes are strong enough to get all the way down into a newfie's coat. Again, line brush from the skin out, not just over the top of the coat. Don't forget classic "trouble spots" behind the ears, and in the armpit and groin areas. Lastly, use a good metal comb with at least 1 1/8 inch long teeth spaced 1/8 of an inch apart, to get the last of the loose coat and as a way of checking to make sure you've gotten all the dead coat and matts out. A "greyhound style" in Medium/coarse or what is called a "poodle comb" is what the pros use and is well worth the money you pay for a good one. Those combs with the rotating teeth that claim to remove undercoat don't work well and break easily, and the Furminator on a coat like a newfie will be equally ineffective. Shedding blades are pretty worthless on long coats, as well. Put a bit of money into good equipment and it not only will do the job, but will last. You can probably pick up all three tools for less than you would spend at the groomer to have your dog done professionaly. You can also check with a local groomer for advice on proper tools. Most times they will be happy to help you out, and even show you how to get the job done, knowing that they could gain a potential customer when you decide you need help, and also knowing that you've made at least some effort at home grooming and so most likely your dog will be accustomed to the process.

Question : Can you answer my question about tabby cats?
What are the answers to these about the tabby cat copy and paste then answer the question beside it. Size: Coat Length(s): Body Type: Grooming Requirement: Talkativeness: Activity Level: Affection: Usually Good With: Time Alone: Attention:

Answer:
A tabby cat is a cat with a distinctive coat that features stripes, dots, or swirling patterns. Tabbies are not a breed of cat... FYI: There are four tabby patterns that have been shown to be genetically distinct: mackerel, classic, spotted and ticked: Mackerel (striped): This is by far the most common pattern, so much so that some people think it should have received the title "Classic." Mackerel tabbies have striped rings around their tail and legs, a "necklace" of stripes on the front of their chests, and bands of solid or broken stripes running down the sides of their bodies. They will have the darker color in spots running in two lines across their tummies (called "vest buttons.") Classic: This pattern usually has whorls ending in a "target" on the side of the cat. Many American Shorthair cats demonstrate this pattern. Spotted: The Ocicat and the American Bobtail are good examples of spotted tabby pattern, although some Moggies will also demonstrate this color pattern. Agouti (Ticked): Most tabby cats will have agouti hairs as part of their pattern. If you look closely, you'll see different bands of color down the length of the cat's individual hairs. Cats with an all-ticked pattern almost shimmer in the sunlight, because of the color variation. The reason I mention this it seems your question is asking about one type of cat (that is not a tabby)...if you change your question to say which tabby you are inquiring about, then we can answer properly :)

Question : what are some grooming tips for horse shows?
i was wondering if any body has any grooming tips for when you go to a horse show? especially for thoroughbreds....

Answer:
Grooming shouldn't be any different at a show than it is at home. Your horse should be curried and brushed both before and after your ride. If you need to hose your horse off after it has been ridden, groom it after it has dried (this will reduce the likelihood of your horse wanting to roll). Show Sheen should only be used in tails, and you should use your fingers to pick out shavings (this will reduce breakage). Trim whiskers, ears, and fetlocks at home before you go.

Question : How important to women is a fit body on men?
Girls, if you met a guy that had a great personality, well groomed & dressed etc, had is act together; how would you gauge your attraction if he was: A) Thin B) Fat (not obese but bigger than 'a little bit chubby' ) C) Fit - meaning muscular but not in a extreme way Cheers

Answer:
I'm into the healthy lifestyle so my guy would have to be fit too. I need for him to keep up with me.

Question : Why do people blindly follow the dictates of society, as relates to their personal grooming?
Madison Avenue and the razor companies have run roughshod over nature as they have brainwashed people into desecrating their bodies. Can you explain why we are a nation of sheep and lemmings? Apparently thinking is something people are not comfortable with, otherwise there would be more answers to this question.

Answer:
That's a question I never stopped to think about, but it is true that people have stopped thinking. For my part, I try to distance myself from corporate marketing efforts and make my own decisions. A long time ago there was a book called a nation of sheep. I probably have not fully answered your question. Personally, I let nature prevail, especially during the winter, if you know what I mean.

Question : Do you think we will eventually view body hair on men the same way as body hair on women?
I mean, culturally, we abhor armpit and leg hair on women, most male models you see in magazines are totally shaved, do you think that it will eventually become a cultural requirement as a practice of good grooming for men to shave the way women are expected to or will men who shave their armpits and legs always be considered gay?

Answer:
Not in our lifetime because its a double standard in grooming between men and women.
