A close shave for a couple years

Well, I've had my razor for a few years now and only recently got around to replacing the blade and foil. It makes a huge difference having a new blade, but these things last so long I didn't really feel I was missing out. It's well worth the investment of $20 to rejuvenate your razor instead of buying a whole new one!

expected quality

What's there to say? It's the original manufacturer replacement and restores the shaver to like-new performance.

Good shaver, good screen and cutting block

I've used Braun razors for over 25 years, and while this model isn't as good as some of the older simpler models, it still works fine. It's great to be able to purchase screens and cutting blocks on Amazon as it's hard to find these in local drug stores. Thanks for providing such great service and just for being there Amazon!

By the way, Braun has a great, simple little battery-powered travel shaver that I now use as my main shaver, and then I use my older model for the side trimmer. The little guy is only about $15 and does a great job, and even has its own rotating screen cover. Very neat.

Braun replacement blade and foil

The Braun replacement blades and foils are necessary for continued use of these electric razors. The good news is that the replacement parts are perfect - no problems at all. The bad news is that they are priced pretty much the same no matter which Braun razor one has. I have a $150 8500 series and a $35 3200 series, and the blade and foil replacements are about the same price for each. For the 3200 series it seems a shame to pay the same price for a blade and foil that one paid for the entire razor to begin with...

Functional

I have used this model of foil for years. It works. It doesn't work great, but then again, I never get a decent shave (given my skin type).

Rating :

Long lasting

This foil seems to last 18-24 months with a thick beard and does not wear down at the end of its life. Good product.

New foil makes a big difference

The new foil made a big difference in the comfort of my Panasonic electric razor. Better than the razor had ever been, even when new. Well worth the price.

Foiled Again

I've been using Panasonic wet-dry razors in various iterations for a number of years. I now have the 8077 and find it the best I've yet tried. Of course, the razor is successful because of a number of factors working together but this foil is excellent. I replaced the original because of a nick in the foil which was tough on my face but the replacement has been excellent.

Review on Panasonic Shaver blade replacement

This was a pair of replacement blades for the Panasonic electric shaver Model ES8092. The cost for the blades was $19.60 plus $4.90 (shipping and handling).

They work well. There's not too much you can say about a pair of replacement shaver blades. I think the cost and convenience to purchase this type of thing makes sense over the internet rather than try to find them at a store.

Customer Review :

Not Exactly the Same as Original Part

When I received this item, I noticed that the package says it will fit only the shavers specified on the package. Amazon.com includes some "extra" models on the compatibility list so I bought it (I bought it to replace the screens and cutters for a WDF-5500 shaver). When I received it, I noticed that some of the plastic components of the replacement were different than the original. I'm not talking about color differences, either. The replacement is actually designed differently. It did, however, fit well and seems to be an adequate replacement, despite the plastic being molded differently, silver screens (versus gold original) and pink components (versus green original). It looks like robo-razor now, but works just fine.

Questions & Answers
Question : What can I do with sensitive skin and shaving?
I have always had very sensitive skin. When I shave I get tiny little bumps on my legs - mainly my thighs. It's really embarrassing! Are there any alternatives besides waxing? I use shaving gel, even the kind for sensitive legs, but it doesn't seem to help.

Answer:
Shaving gel is a gimmic. I don't have sensitive skin, but it's very dry and I've found even the best shaving cream for dry, sensitive skin does nothing but dry my skin out even more. Exfoliate your skin first to get rid of any bumps from dry, dead skin building up. This also helps with ingrown hairs...My husband doesn't shave his legs, never has, but I notice his thighs have a lot of ingrown hairs and exfoliating helps get rid of them. Use a thick, moisturizing conditioner instead of shaving cream. It's thick enough to protect your legs plus it moisturizes as well. And make sure you have a new razor too...the newer the razor, the fewer the knicks and cuts. You don't want the water to be too hot. This can dry your skin out, and even if it's sensitive...this can make it more sensitive. It's also better to shave after the skin has been soaking for a while. So if you have a bathtub...just lay in there and relax in the warm-mildly hot water for 10 or 15 minutes, then shave.

Question : How do I prevent shaving rash and ingrown hairs?
I wet shave with good quality shaving foam but always end up with what look like red spots and a rash. How can i stop this from happening? I also get ingrown hairs.

Answer:
Maybe you might be pressing-on too hard, (when in a hurry, you are more likely to press-on and hack at your legs, thereby causing razor burn and cuts) Just let the razor rest on & glide over your legs with only gravity to press it on you. you will still cut the hairs like this, pressing on wont cut the hairs any shorter. ;-)

Question : Why is Britney considered crazy for shaving her head, when Natalie Portman and Demi Moore did the same thing?
Excluding everything else that happened (Umbrellas, etc) If she just shaved her head, she'd be considered crazy anyways. Demi Moore and Natalie Portman shaved their heads aswell, but there wasn't this huge deal about it. I know Britney shaving her head was a psychological thing deeper than just shaving her head for shits and giggles. But why do you think?

Answer:
Yes, Demi and Natalie shaved their heads for their movie roles but still, if Britney shaved her head for a movie role she'd still be considered crazy and people would still make a big deal about it. It's because she's Britney Spears. Demi Moore and Natalie Portman were never the teenage popstar girly girl that Britney Spears was in the beginning of her career. What Britney turned into shocked everyone, because it's such a big contrast from who she was in the beginning, that's why people consider her crazy for shaving her head and doing the things she has done.

Question : Does shaving frequently really cause facial hair to grow faster and thicker?
I'm 17 My facial hair started growing a while ago but it does not grow thick and it grows in patches. I want that stubble look but not in patches Will shaving more help the hair grow thicker?

Answer:
Of course not. Shaving cuts off dead hair tissue, it grows from the bottom. Shaving doesn't do anything magical to your hair, any more than just rubbing or massaging your hand across the beard area. Many men have patchy beards, so they just can't have the "stubble" look. It may grow in eventually, but if you have to shave some whiskers daily and there are bare patches, most likely they will stay bare.

Question : does shaving really make your hair come back quicker and or thicker?
A lot of people say different things and I don't know who's right and who's wrong, does shaving or waxing make your hair come back darker, thicker and quicker. Are there any other alternatives to get rid of hair with out these effects?

Answer:
Hi: I am a Registered Nurse and have been doing laser hair removal for 12 years. I know quite a bit about the anatomy and physiology of the body and HAIR. Shaving DOES NOT make your hair grow back thicker and quicker. Lets think about this with common sense for a moment: The hair follicle penetrates through the skin and grows due to the root of the hair. There are 3 hair cycles which determine hair growth. Anagen, Telogen and Catagen. All of these factors take place at the root of the hair under the skin. It's like a flower pot: plant a seed and a flower will grow through the soil. Much like the hair follicle. Since shaving is none invasive and you are only cutting the hair from the top than how could it possibly have any affect on the hair growth determined by the root of the hair under the skin? When you shave it grows back stubbly and because we dont always shave evenly and the hairs grow in different directions so when we cut the hairs off with the razor and the hairs dont follow in unison you get the feeling that there is more, BUT IT'S A MYTH. As to what you can do, if you can afford it try laser hair removal. If funds are low, WAX. Waxing pulls the hair out of the root and after several years of waxing your hair root will become weaker and the hair will grow in finer. Good Luck, Michelle of Miami Laser Hair Removal

Question : How do I get rid of facial hair without shaving?
There are some places in my face where I prefer not to shave. Is there any hair removal creame or anything else that I can use? I don't want the hair to grow back thick which happens after shaving.

Answer:
Try Sally Hansen Creme Hair Remover for the face. It's excellent.

Question : How to shave in flight? Is shaving kit (razors, blades etc) allowed in international flights?
I need to shave my beard everyday since many of them turned gray. However while in international flight(which takes around 25 hours) how would I shave? Are blades, razors, shaving cream allowed in international flights? If not then how would one shave in flight?

Answer:
Safety razors and less than 3 oz. cans of shaving foam are allowed and many airlines offer them in business and 1st class. Just go in the bathroom and shave, I usually bring along an electric razor on long flights, it's a lot easier than foam and razors in a cramped airplane bathroom. Electric and safety razors are not prohibited and are perfectly fine to bring onto an airplane, at least in the US and Asia where I fly to and from frequently. http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/index.shtm

Question : What is the better product to use when shaving for a guy to eliminate ingrown hairs?
I keep getting ingrown hairs from shaving . I use been a gel for a mach 3 razor , but then I changed to a shaving creme. What do you think is better for you to get stop the ingrown hairs?

Answer:
My husband has this same problem and he uses a cream that is Rx only. The tube is Dark yellow and brown and on it it says Clioquinol 3% with Hydrocortisone 1% cream. I believe its by Qualitest. This cream works very well for him.

Question : What is the best shaving products for women?
What do you think is the best razor and shaving cream for women? I want to get a new one but dont know what to get.

Answer:
I'm a big fan of the "Intuition" by Schick. It's got it's own soap bar surrounding the razor head so you don't need shaving cream!
