Decent
This is an interesting gadget. It adds a lubricating pump to an electric razor. I haven't used too many electric razors but this one seemed pretty smooth although it didn't provide as a good a shave as a regular razor. No irritation and not much mess either. The razor element seems a bit flimsy, even with the protective cover. As long as its not banged around too much it would make for a decent travel razor.

Nice shaver, but does chew up your neck.
I like this shaver. It gives your a nice close shave, and it is shower safe, which saves me a lot of time. However even with the lotion (which is reasonably priced) it does a number on around the base of your neck. I've passed the 21 day break in period and still that area takes a little bit of chewing up from the blades.

Nice wet shave, HORRIBLE dry shave
I got to use one of these recently. To summarize: Pros - really smooth shave when used wet (I mean, I didn't feel a thing) - can be used with Nivea lotion (supplied), lather, foam or just wet your face - easy to use (even refilling it with the lotion is not as hard as it seems) - comes with detachable sideburn trimmer, which can be stored in the charging stand. Now, Cons - horrible dry shave - don't ever try it in the morning - it feels like it's pulling hair, not cutting it, missing half of it anyhow - 4 hr charge? (really? - almost anything above $100 charges in less than an hour) - BAD trade-off: you can take it in the shower, it's fully water-proof, but the blades are rudimentary - it's only three blades (as opposed to high end Norelco 9-bladed ones w/3 blades on each head) and it has slots only (no holes like in 8000 Norelco). Hence, the crappy shave. - I already mentioned smooth, but LONG shave. - Tedious maintenance
P.S. If you don't have a problem spending a little extra time shaving and shaving wet only - get it, it's one of the most plesant experiences. Nivea lotion rocks. I gave it four stars because despite all the downfalls, it FELT GOOD!

Excellent Shaver
All my life I have hoped that technology would finally allow a electric shaver that would actually shave as good as a razer blade. Well, that day has arrived. This shaver is used in the shower and has lotion inside the shaver that you push a button and it despenses the lotion. The shave is unbleivabley smooth. When I get out of the shower and rinse my face, it feels absolutley equiveniant to a shave with a blade.. end of story

The perfect compliment to blade or electric shavers. Compact and easy-to-use in the car, at work, or at the gym. 2 TITANIUM Microscreens. Ergonomic comfort grip handle. Premium motor rated for 75 hours. Integrated cleaning brush.

Not that great at all
The product kind of sucks. It doesn't provide a clean shave and if you have a lot of facial hair it is practically useless plus it's only good for people who keeps a regularly shaving but it still doesn't give that smooth shave that is wanted. No doubt a waste of money
Rating :
Great shaver for occasional use
I am a devoted blade user (despite what the ads say, there are NO electrics that shave as close as a blade), but there are times that I just don't feel like going through the whole ritual of wet shaving. I've had all of the major electric brands at one time or another, including a Norelco rotary and an expensive Braun. I can say, without exaggeration, that this little eleven-buck throwaway shaver is the best electric I've ever owned or used.
When I ordered this, my main worry was that a battery-based shaver would be underpowered. Surprisingly, the lower power seems to be a plus. This shaver doesn't seem as aggressive and brutal as the plug-in and rechargeable models I've used. It doesn't irritate my skin but still has plenty of power to cut my very stiff hair.
Minor drawbacks: No trimmer; the clear plastic head protector doesn't stay on (but you can solve that with a rubber band); the cleaning brush is tiny and is hard to remove from the plastic protector (so I use a leftover brush from a previous shaver). Considering the price and performance, these are trivial issues.

Almost
Great shave! Only disappointment, no trimmer. Must carry a blade razor or scissor for long hairs.

Excellent, Cheap Shaver!
This has been my primary shaver since July of last year. Bought it when I forgot my Norelco rotary on a trip. Have not looked back since. This shaver outperformed my Norelco in every aspect. Just shows that price ($10 vs. $90) does not equal quality.
Why four stars? A couple items: - Battery operated. Can get expensive over time to keep buying batteries, though the batteries do tend to last a while (2+ weeks) before speed of blade gets noticeably slower. - Can't replace the blades or foil. Small complaint, as the shaver is cheap enough to just buy a new one. - Does take a few passes to get a majority of the hairs (esp. after batteries are worn a little). - As with all electrics, tends to miss hair, especially in hard areas (under chin, around lip, next to ears, etc.)
Overall, a great value to at least try BEFORE you spend $70+ on a rechargeable shaver.

Great Item!
I bought this for my son. He is serving our country in Iraq and water isn't always available for shaving so he found this travel razor that he can use. Because of it's inexpensive price he is not concerned if he loses it, it does a great job and it doesn't take up alot of room.

Can't get any better!
I have used Norelco shavers for ages. I bought this model before reading any of the reviews posted here and I'm glad I did.
This is the best Norelco shaver yet. It's built solid, has a great grip, and shaves as close as one gets to razorblade.
It's best feature is maneuverability of the head that shaves the toughest areas, especially under the chin and the upper neck area. I used to have a standard razor for this but no more.
It has a slick stand and a tough carrying case. It's 20 or so shaves per charge gives you at least two weeks without having to recharge which is great for those of who travel much. I got the 1060 instead of the 1090 since the price-performance point was much higher for the 1060: for $45 less, I can live with a bar graph for battery level.
Bear in mind that I have a tougher skin and a heavy beard. I use the shaver wet with a bit of soap on my face.

Better than expected
I have always used Norelco shavers but I was apprehensive because of the new design. I am very pleased and will recommend this shaver to anyone.
Rating :
Another stellar shaver from Norelco
I've read a lot of bad reviews on this shaver and I just don't understand why it gets such bad marks. Granted, I've never shaved with any other brand than a Norelco, so I may not have a lot to compare it to. For the past eight years, I shaved with a Norelco Advantage/Cool skin. I wasn't in the market to purchase a new shaver, as I loved my cool skin, but after 8 years, it began to come apart (literally). I received this shaver as a welcome and much needed birthday gift. So far it has lived up to my expectations; its precise in the way it cuts the facial hair and it does provide a closer shave on the neck region than my Advantage/Cool Skin model. In order to avoid any razor burn, I dab some Lectric Shave on my face about 30 seconds prior to shaving (great advice for any of you experiencing razor burn). Unlike the Advantage/Cool skin model, the hairs fall into the blade area neatly, which makes cleaning a breeze. All it takes is some lightly running hot water and about 30 seconds. The arcitec 1060 also has a very powerful charger; I've had it now for over two weeks and have only had to charge it once.
Yes, this is an expensive razor and it may not be worth the price you pay for it, but getting it as a gift I can honestly say that I hope to be using this shaver for years to come. It's a quality machine that does what it is supposed to do: provide a close, comfortable shave.

Happy first time owner
I've owned the Norelco Arcitec 1060 for a little over 6 months now and I continue to enjoy this shaver. The battery lasts an extremely long time and I rarely have to charge it. The carrying case and stand-up charger/holder both look great and function perfectly. I haven't owned an electric shaver previous to this model so I cannot fairly compare. However, being a first time owner I am happy with my purchase/investment.
The only area of opportunity for me is that despite 3 different sized shaving heads there are many hairs the blade is unable to catch and cut. This primarily occurs around my neck and forces me to use the built in trimmer to cut them. I would say this razor cuts 98% - 99% of what I need it to do and the many pros outweigh this small inconvenience.
Other notable pros : - Easy to clean - LED display is convenient
Rating :
Good but not as good as my old Norelco
Bought this as a replacement electric shaver. Am a Norelco user now but wasn't totally pleased with this replacement - mainly not as good - in the closeness and smoothness of the shave ( as compared to my old Norelco shaver).

Not impressed
I bought this to replace my Norelco three blade rotary razor. I never used this type of razor and have read its better and smother for sensitive skin so I decided to give it a try. When I first turned it on (at 4:30am) my dog went crazy barking which woke the wife. It's has a high pitch buzzing which is much louder than the Norelco. It is smoother on the skin only because it doesn't cut very well (except for the crack of my mouth when I tried to get shave close). It's hard to maneuver around the mouth and under the nose and leaves a considerable amount of uncut hair, especially on the neck. I have no opinion on the self cleaning. I guess it works but so did pulling the head off my Norelco and running under the water in the sink. I was excited after reading reviews on this razor however after using it for about a month I can now say I am very disappointed and am considering pulling out the old Norelco.

I like it!
I don't have heavy facial hair, but my early attempts using electric razors always proved unsatisfactory. I thought I was doomed to scrapes and nicks from blade razors the rest of my life.
Then Amazon.com advertised the Panasonic E80785 in their "Today's Deals" at a very tempting price. To me, this means that this model has been upgraded with a new model. Anyway, I checked the reviews and decided to get one.
Wow! This is a really great electric razor. Even when used dry it produces good results. But, when used wet, it is a dream fulfilled! After only a few days of use, my face feels softer and smoother - even my old wrinkled turkey neck is gently and cleanly shaved. I also really like the self cleaning feature, the cordless feature, number of shaves between necessary charges, and the high speed.
Of course, using a razor like this does cost more money than the old blade types. But if you love yourself at all, the obsolete Panasonic ES80785 should be high on your list of priorities - or the newest replacement model if you can afford it.

Cheaply made. Lame.
Well, I have used a Panasonic "Smooth Operator" razor for years.
Thought I might replace it with a brand new (and expensive) Panasonic.
When I got my new razor I was really surprised. It's a cheap, lightweight piece of plastic.
Also, the shave is nowhere near as good as my old razor.
I wish I could get my $$ back. It just sits there, collecting dust.
What a step backwards for Panasonic!

Excellent shaver
My first electric shaver, and I'm very impressed! I agree with the other reviews in that it works much better as a wet shaver than a dry shaver. The charging/cleaning base is a little large, just be sure that you have enough room for it. The price at Amazon is the lowest I've found on the internet or in stores.
Rating :
It's ok...not much more.
I've been using this razor for just about a year now after buying it as an Amazon Gold Box special. The blade is due for replacement, but I believe it's time to move along to another machine.
The pros: It's inexpensive as far as decent electric razors go.
The shaving head is shaped to allow the razor to get in everywhere. I prefer the closeness of Norelco razors, but that edge that surrounds the discs on all of them prevents the razor from being able to get under my nose.
It provides a decent shave over most of my face, a passable shave over part of it, and a horrible shave over other parts.
The cons: If I don't pre-clean the head before using the HydraClean base, the cartridge is only good for about eight uses. With pre-cleaning by holding the running unit under water with the cap off and rinsing the cap, the cartridges last a month or so.
After a bit shy of a year, the head is starting to dull. Now, it pulls instead of cuts (ouch!).
It's very slow. I have to pass the razor over certain areas of my face upwards of a dozen times from various directions to get a smooth shave. I can shave with a regular razor and wash off the excess shaving cream in close to half the time it takes to shave with this razor.
The cleaning cycle takes forever. I'm pretty sure the Panasonic has run more while being cleaned than it has while actually shaving.

Norelco 7810
I got my first Norelco in Germany in 1954 and have use them since. Got the 7810 model because it was made in Holland, not China and was a $20 off sale. It has Li-Ion battery but still needs to use until runs out and then recharge. When that happens you can wait a few second and turn on and use for a short time or plug it in, use and then leave pugged to recharge - take about an hour and has flashing light when done. First charge takes a long time. Hot water wash is nice - I rest mine on the heads so water drains off.

Question : Why do people blindly follow the dictates of society, as relates to their personal grooming?
Madison Avenue and the razor companies have run roughshod over nature as they have brainwashed people
into desecrating their bodies. Can you explain why we
are a nation of sheep and lemmings?
Apparently thinking is something people are not
comfortable with, otherwise there would be more answers to this question.
Answer:
That's a question I never stopped to think about, but it is
true that people have stopped thinking. For my part, I try
to distance myself from corporate marketing efforts and
make my own decisions. A long time ago there was a
book called a nation of sheep. I probably have not fully answered your question. Personally, I let nature prevail,
especially during the winter, if you know what I mean.
|
Question : What initially attracts you to another?
I mean right from the get go, when you see a stranger walk by. Do sexual features stick out? What parts of the body? Grooming?
Answer:
Since you don't know this persons mind, it depends purely on physical features. That includes your preferred size/shape of boobs, your preferred size/shape of butt, your preferred weight, your preferred shape of face etc. and that goes on for a pretty long time.
|
Question : What does this hamster body language really mean?
I have two dwarf hamsters, both are 1.5 year old. I like to watch them grooming cos its so fun and cute. My fav is to see them rubbing their head with paws, before that, they even rubbing paws swiftly as if applying oil on it, lol. Well, I was checking out their body languages for fun and noticed one said thats its actually an act of tenderness. I wonder what does it really mean? I always take it as a usual cleaning and grooming though.
Answer:
I've always been told by my eldest brother- he's 29 and used to keep loads of rodents, snakes, etc.- that it means their happy. My hamsters always seem to be grooming themselves, so their obviously happy then.
