Decent Shaver

The Wahl Bump-Free Shaver is a nice shaver for those who cannot use your typical razor, however the trimmer portion of the shaver is somewhat useless still have to use my trimmers.

Rating :

Waste of money

It doesn't give a clean smooth shave and it's a waste of money with the loud noise that it makes.

One of the best shaving experiences of my life

This is truly a good product; it gives a comfortable shave and does an exceptionally good job in not breaking the skin. I could tell this from the first time I applied after shave--the second time, I used moisturizer and neither burned or irritated. I recommend this shaver for anyone moving from razor to electric shaver.

Rating :

Just OK

This shaver is ok. It is not as good as Remington's old Black Man's Shaver. It does not cut the single strands of fine hair. It does cut short stubble well. For the money though it does ok.

works for me

This is not a portable razor with all the bells and whistles. It is a plain plug-in unit that works just like they say it would. What more can you ask for?

Best one yet

I have purchased Norelco Shavers since they started making them. No Fooling. This is the best one yet!!!

Great razor, low cost

After 20+ years with my original Norelco, it finally broke. I was looking for a simple razor without too many bells and whistles. This is a simple design, does a great job and it is relatively inexpensive. I don't care for rechargable razors simply because I don't like them sitting on my bathroom sink all the time, I prefer one I can put in a drawer when I'm not using it.

Patience didnt pay off.

I waited the time it said for my face to adjust to it, but I did not notice much of a difference. It seemed like I had to move it around in many different ways to get all the hair, I have thick hair, and this is my first time trying this type of razor. I tried my best to follow the directions carefully, and to clean the razor how it was described. Over all im disappointed and feel like I wasted my time.

Sleek and sexy little thing...

I got mine on clearance at Target for about twenty five bucks, but mainly use it as a trimmer. The foil shaver is good but still not as easy and close as using a plain old razor blade, and does irritate my skin unless I use some sort of aftershave toning cream afterwards. So instead I now use the trimmer to shave...this leaves me with a five o'clock shadow look but it's much faster and doesn't require the lather-up-and-rinse process of using a blade and shaving cream.

Really appreciate the ergonomics of this thing, it fits perfectly in my hand. The battery holds a decent charge, I recharge it maybe twice a month tops. It's not too loud either, which is a plus.

If I had to do it all over again I'd probably buy one of those Norelco Beard Trimmers and use it for shaving because they have a vaccuum which means that your hairs are tidily sucked up so there's no mess you have to clean up afterwards...but for the time being am pretty happy with this thing. I also like that it's water resistant, so I can use it in the shower if I want to.

Utterly Ruubish

well to be honest, I took my chances while purchasing this product, after reading all the bad reviews

I took it basically for trimming and it doesnt work.

Totally useless product, its all the hype, totally not worth it

Nice shave but takes longer

This shaver gives a nice clean cut, however it seems to take over twice as long as my last Braun shaver. My previous Braun has two heads while this one only has one. At the time, I didn't give it much thought, but in retrospect, I would have sought after one which had two. All in all, paying an extra $30 for one of the nicer Brauns would have been a better idea.

Doesn't last long....

Great idea. Bad quality. It has some issues cutting long hair but you have the trimmer/whatever. Well, tonight the trimmer chocked and died on me on my beard. Basically the blades got enough "hair inside" that something got suck and stopped moving. I have had this product for about 4-6 months.

Sorry but if a product is aimed at trimming beards/goatees, etc also, I expect it to work *and last*. Didn't.

Went back to my Norelco for a second to finish my shave (it runs low on batteries even at full charge for being old) and I was surprised how much better even in non-trimmer mode it grabbed longer hair.

My disappointment is that Norelco doesn't make an "all in one" product like this anymore. They charge high, but I have to say, they work better, and I think this is the first and last Braun shaving product I buy.

Hint to Braun: you have the right idea. But it needs to last. Even if that means charging $20 USD more for it.

BrAun CruZer 3 (2865 - Type 5733)

The Braun CruZer 3 is many tools in one, let's take a look at them one by one:

1-Shaver: This shaver uses the Braun shaving foil which is supposed to catch all hair regardless of the direction of growth, it raises it and then the cutter block finishes the job.

It's a nice theory that doesn't work as intended. The shaver foil doesn't catch all hair and the cutter block isn't sharp enough or maybe the whole mechanism needs a redesign.

At first when I tried to shave after a few days of not shaving (Braun in that case recommends using the trimmer first then the shaver) well, I did exactly that and only thing that worked was the trimmer, the shaver still didn't shave well.

Next time I used the shaver I had just shaved the day before and I noticed that the shaver did a better job than the time before but still not as good as I expected.

After a while I figured that this shaver doesn't need to be moved quickly up-down like others, you better press well against your skin and move very slow, that gave me the best results. Still not perfect but acceptable.

2-Styler: The CruZer 3 comes with a very good trimmer, it's sharp and accurate, you can use the wide shaper (1.1 in / 28 mm) or the narrow shaper (0.55 in / 14 mm).

I personally think the styler part is great, the ability to do wide and narrow areas of your face and the way the trimmer rotates 180 degrees with a push of a finger gives you quick access to both trimmers while in the middle of styling.

At first I was bothered because I couldn't see the trimmer from all angles, also if you lean the shaver against your face there chance the foil might miss another area. So, I tweaked the thing a bit, I removed the foil, pulled the cutter block out then used the trimmers just like that (no foil and no cutter block). That eliminated the threat of the foil cutting hair and also made the visible area bigger and clearer.

No kidding, but with a styler as good as that you can write your initials on one check and draw a picture on the other.

3-Beard trimmer : This part is flawless, all you have to do is attach the beard trimmer, select the desired length then enjoy a fast and easy beard trimming.

With that said, the shaver comes with universal power adapter which serves as both a power supply and charger. Yes! You can use the CruZer 3 in cordless mode for 30 minutes.

The on/off switch is neat and the light on the front informs you about charge power and other information.

You can wash the machine --when not connected to the power chord-- also it comes with cleaning oil and a nice brush to clean all and every part

That's all to it, I do recommend this machine for the serious styler, if you just want to have a clean shave then maybe this machine is too much beside the shaving part isn't exactly where it excels.

Questions & Answers
Question : How do I get rid of facial hair without shaving?
There are some places in my face where I prefer not to shave. Is there any hair removal creame or anything else that I can use? I don't want the hair to grow back thick which happens after shaving.

Answer:
Try Sally Hansen Creme Hair Remover for the face. It's excellent.

Question : how do you get rid of irritaion from legs after shaving?
I've had razor irritation on my legs for the longest. Every time i shave I get red bumps on my legs. I ve tried mostly every type of razor and the schick quatro is the one that gives me the least irritaion. I dont have the kind of money to go out and wax my legs every week. And Nair really really irritates my legs. I've used shaving cream but it didnt help much. So is there anything i can do to get rid of irritation?

Answer:
You need to shave at the end of your shower. Let your legs absorb some moisture first. Use the quatro and use a moisturizing shave gel. Mosturize as soon as you get out of the shower. If you want to try waxing, you don't have to do it every week. The first couple of times it might only last 2 weeks or so, but the more you do it the longer the results last.

Question : What is a good non aerosol shaving cream for dry, sensitive skin that is prone to shaving irritation?
My all-time favorite shaving product, Edge Active Care Deep Hydrating Shave Cream, has been discontinued. I am desperate to find a worthy replacement that will minimize bumps and irritation. I also need something that will not dry my skin out. No aerosol cans, please. Reasonable price, under $10, is a plus.

Answer:
try aveeno products. http://www.aveeno.com/segmentAction.do?segid=1006&catid=1001 They are great products and the bottoms of their bottles do not leave rust rings on your tub.

Question : How do you avoid pimples when shaving the vagina?
I've been shaving for a few months, at first it was smooth but recently it's become pimpled. Tried using hair removal cream and waxing but neither work. Wondered how to avoid getting pimples and if there's any way of removing them.

Answer:
apply honey /

Question : What can i use instead of shaving cream?
So i don't own any shaving cream at home and i found out that it's bad to shave your legs when they're dry. So what can i use instead of shaving cream?

Answer:
lathered soap

Question : at what age do girls start shaving their underarms?
My daughter is 10 and already a 38B with hairy armpits. When should I teach her about shaving? She already got her first period.

Answer:
well when i got my first period in 4th grade and was a 34b by then.. my mom was like here's a razor it's time to start shaving your armpits and legs. so, i'd say start busting out a razor and teaching her how to take care of herself along with some deodorant. my neice had her first period and her mom got her some razors and pads and deodorant and taught her everything she needs to know right then and there.

Question : Does shaving facial hair allow hair to grow where it hasnt before?
I know shaving doesnt speed up the growing process. I recently shaved and i noticed my beard was a bit thicker and darker, there are actually some areas on my face that hair is growing where it hasnt grown before. I want to have a full beard chinstrap, shoul i shave the areas where there isnt hair to allow the hairless areas to grow?

Answer:
Shaving doesn't make hair grow. It just started growing there and you didn't notice because you were shaving that area.

Question : What is the ideal way of shaving arms and legs?
I use a razor to shave my arms and legs. I use the specially formulated shaving foam for women, I wet the area well and always change the blades on a regular basis. But whatever I do, my skin does not feel smooth and I always get razor burn. So I must be doing something wrong. Please help.

Answer:
Your skin is probably just getting dry because you are shaving so much.. it would help to mosturize your legs & arms as soon as you shaved them... and if you shave them everyday.. if possible - give them a break for a couple days.. you will notice a change.. & then the shave will become even smoother & you'll have nice skin... something I do, which REALLY helps.. is once you're out of the shower, & done shaving.. use baby oil gel.. and rub some on your arms and legs & and then rub your legs & arms w/a towel.. and then apply your regular lotion.. & you should see a big improvement.. I hope I helped.. because I had the same problem..

Question : what age do males start shaving everyday?
I am 17 and I only shave like once a week to a week and a half and I can;t grow good facial hair. Mine is so scraggly and patchy, its just like dark peach fuzz in certain spots. What age do men start shaving the face like on a regular basis, and what age does the hair become full and thick?

Answer:
It varies from guy to guy. I was in the 6th grade and already had a moustache. I know several men in their 40's who only shave every other day. We're all different.

Question : How to shave in flight? Is shaving kit (razors, blades etc) allowed in international flights?
I need to shave my beard everyday since many of them turned gray. However while in international flight(which takes around 25 hours) how would I shave? Are blades, razors, shaving cream allowed in international flights? If not then how would one shave in flight?

Answer:
Safety razors and less than 3 oz. cans of shaving foam are allowed and many airlines offer them in business and 1st class. Just go in the bathroom and shave, I usually bring along an electric razor on long flights, it's a lot easier than foam and razors in a cramped airplane bathroom. Electric and safety razors are not prohibited and are perfectly fine to bring onto an airplane, at least in the US and Asia where I fly to and from frequently. http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/index.shtm
