Kinda ok

I tried this shaver and it was ok. I got burned the first time and it did not cut as close as i would like it to....but i think what might not work for me will work for you. For all those black men out there who are plagued with razor bumps and have tried everyway of shaving, here is a little advice: try the Andis outliner 2 trimmer and be sure you go to your local black barber and ask him to adjust the blades. Please be sure that the ones that he uses on his clients work. You want them to be close but not close enough to bite. besides that DO NOT USE RAZORS OR ANY OTHER ELECTRIC SHAVERS. Trust me. I have tried different ways and this will save you a lot of razor bumps.

It really works!!

After years of skin irritation was a little skeptical that this would work.So far no bumps. The shaver is not razor smooth yet gives a close shaved look.Goodbye beard!!!

Great product

As an African-American military member, this is the closet shaver I have found that does not leave my face with ingrownhairs two days later. I am very impressed with it. I used to use Wahl beard trimmers turned upside down, and sometimes the BumpStopper razors. This is, by far, the best product for a very, very close shave and yet no razor bumps. If only it cost a little less, I would like to buy them as a Xmas gift for every professinal black men in my family.

First shaver inefective, replacement exceptional

Shaver arrives in good timing. Discovered the battery would not keep a charge. Contacted manufacter, they exchanged for brand new one, works great! I love it!

Sorry, not impressed!

Ok, this was only me second razor, so you might want to say "You know nothing yet boy!"

Ya, I would understand that, but it's only my second because I have been using my first for almost a !DECADE! (27 now) and my first razor IS a Remington R 845. And the battery still lasts for over a week. So I said, DAMN I am gonna get another one of those.

I had seen a lot of adds for the self cleaning foil shavers and said, what the hell, $100 for half that time, nooo problem.

Well, first, this thing vibrates like a mother! My hand is numb after using it. And to top it off, sure, it does cut a bit closer, well, if you can call it cutting. I call it YANKING it out.

After three months of trying to get used to it, I gave up and have gone back to my R 845 (now super glued in multiple places) and am looking for another razor.

Great shaver that leaked after 8 months of usage

This is my very first electric shaver, it does the job very well. I opt for an electric shaver due to bumps when regular razors are used.

However, today, the base system started to leak. I wasted two refills trying to find out what was causing the leak. I thought I failed to properly seal/close the base. Until I read this review. It seems like this is a known problem. I sent an email to Remington to request for a replacement. I hope I get the replacement within a week :D

EDIT:
I thought Remington was only going to send a cleaning base. To my surprise, new complete system arrived 5-days after I send them an email.

Not good for the long term

I chose this razor due to its self cleaning feature and guarantee to cut very close. Reviews prior to the purchase were excellent and it received high marks. Styling was attractive (compact and light - albeit flimsy compared to other brands in my opinion). It had plastic chrome with a rubber feel wrap/trim. To disassemble the foil from the unit to expose the blades was easy but putting it back took a bit more time to do correctly.

The unit could be charged in a docking station or through a plug.

It comes with a case, foil cover and brush. The power indicator was good although I really never depended upon it on a frequent basis (it was always being charged except for one 7 day trip). I have to say that the battery life was good (lasting 7 days without a charge). When the energy runs low, it doesn't have enough juice like the Panasonic Linear that it replaced. Operation is simple and the buttons are responsive.

The trimmer is quite effective and one of the only features to stand the test of time.

This was not a wet/dry shaver to my dismay (despite the 'wet cleaning solution'). You also had to be careful not to tip the base over or you would spill the solution on the vanity (not safe). I was shocked at how loud the 'cleaning process' was and how long it took (it must take 5-10 minutes which is excessive - and ineffective). It also tended to drop beard clippings all over the place (sink, vanity and floor) - messy...messy thing!

The case is big - a bit too big and the compartments are too confusing to see what goes where (the plug on one side and the shaver in the other?). It is a bit bulky for a 'travel' shaver, too.

THE HONEYMOON:
When I first used this shaver, I was impressed with how well and how close of a shave I received. It was truly as close as a real blade. It was one of the noisiest shavers I have ever used.

THE BATTLES:
After a month, I noticed it was not cutting as close but I put up with it.

However, despite the refilling of cleaning solutions and daily 'cleaning', I found that it was not cutting very close, at all, towards the 8-9 months of use. I never bothered to replace the blades since I had used Norelco's (2), 1 Braun and Panasonics (2 Linear) with no problems like this. Was this a function of rapidly deteriorating blades or an ineffective cleaning system?

Given the price, I would have expected this to be a wet/dry shaver which limited its versatility (it was replacing a 2nd generation Panasonic Linear). This was my 5th electric razor since I started shaving - and sadly one of the worst.

The 'cleaning system' consists of a small filter and volatile/oily cleaning solution that needs to be replaced monthly. Cleaning this unit is quite messy and I found that the blades still had lots of stubble despite cycling through a cleaning cycle. I find this to be the least effective methods of cleaning (nice concept and in theory). I hope this 'fad of self contained cleaning solutions' fades away.

IN THE END:
I even resorted to 2 months of using a disposable razor because of it. However, after two months of using a disposable, I bought a Panasonic Arc Shaver, exclusively from Sharper Image (look in the near future for a review on this model).

SUMMARY:
As for now, this shaver gets 2 thumbs up (out of 5 thumbs). I do not recommend this unit, at all. It is a poor value (for cost and maintenance) and a product of poor engineering. The thing that really sold me at the beginning (in addition to such poorly earned stellar reviews) was the name (to which it did not live up to - Titanium). It should have been named iron (to parallel rust) or silver (to parallel the tarnishing).

I do not recommend a 'self cleaning unit' that uses solution like this (especially, if you have pets or small children or careless cleaning ladies) from ANY manufacturer. The effectiveness of a close shave was short-lived.

NOT RECOMMENDED.

Go anywhere shave anywhere

I got this for my husband for a Christmas gift. What a wonderful success. He works out of the office at home so he will take it there to work and shave in the morning. When traveling he just packs the charged razor. He comments that it is so much easier and closer. There is a slight time to get use to shaving with electric verse a regular razor but so well worth it. I also got one for my son who is in the army stationed in Afghanistan where they have limited water, he is thrilled with it. Says he isn't shaving with cold water and no mirror.

He could not believe How Fast this razor is and what a good job it does.
He thanked me profusely, and I said.....well, You paid for it!
He laughed.......good old credit card.....

FORGET IT !!!

Dont get carried away by the fact that if its a costly electric shaver, it can replace your existing razors.

NO IT CANT ...

so get a cheap trimmer which u can use only for trimming as this shaver cannot do anything good other than trimming...which just a simple 10 buck trimmer can do ...

I had burns/cuts etc using this shaver ...

Dont go for it !!

Disappointed

I've been using Panasonic wet/dry shavers for more than 10 years and this is one of the worst models for wet shaving yet. For some reason, the last few models of Panasonic shavers that I've had just haven't held up to wet shaving the way they should. I haven't given up yet on Panasonic, but I'm close.

What a great buy!

This is the second Panasonic I have bought. The first was for my son and he tossed his Braun shaver away, this one I purchased is a gift for Xmas for my brother because he saw my sons and told me he would get one also because, you can use it in the shower and you can buy new blades if you need to! Definetly THUMBS UP!!!

Panasonic ES4025SC Pro Shaver

There is only one thing keeping me from giving this shaver a 5 star rating. The closeness of the shave is not quite like my last Panasonic shaver.

The charge lasts for about three different 7 minute shaves before needing a recharge.

The recharger itself is an excellent design.

A little closer, please!

I have been a razor guy my whole life. I have been wanting to try an electric razor, especially a wet/dry one, for years now. I tried this Panasonic after it received a good rating in Consumer Reports this spring (well, not THIS model, but one nearly like it). I gave it 3 weeks hoping that my face would eventually get used to it. It worked fairly well with shaving cream, but never quite shaved me close enough. My beard grows flat on my face, making it hard for the razor to pick up and shave. Several times I would look in the mirror and see a single hair that didn't get cut at all. In the end I wound up putting it in the drawer and pulling out the old trusty razor.
On the one hand I don't feel bad because it was not too expensive to experiment with, but somehow I think that if I had bought a more expensive brand I would have had better results.

have owned all the razors out there.......

I am over 50 and have had all the brand name razors plus ones you only get at the no-name stores. this is good for the price. When I go to the membership/club stores, they carry ONE razor for $139.00.....no electric is worth that. This Panasonic does have a less-than-full blade and groomer across the body of the razor, so more time needed to do the whole job....you know the main advantage of this razor compared to most? You can trim "personal body parts" with it and you won't bleed....take my word for it, that can't be said for most of the others. And if your skin is slightly wet, it won't kill the razor.....take it to the gym, etc.
There are tricks to using an electric, you have to pull the face, to stretch it, to get a good shave as the blade and foil run across, but that becomes second nature.....too bad this brand is difficult to find in the retail stores, but with Amazon, who cares?

Good shaver for the price

This is the third one of these I've bought. The motor, trimmer and charger last just fine, but the blades and outer foil need to be replaced before 9 months has passed. The reason I keep going back for an entire shaver is that replacing just the blades and outer foil would cost about $35, while I can get the entire shaver for under $30 every time. I may try changing just the blades this time (around $15 online vendors) and seeing if the outer foil holds up. That would extend the life of the shaver a good bit, but for $30 every 9 months or so it's a cheap enough deal, works just fine and does the job.

Question : Grooming an Old English Sheepdog?
I've got an Old English Sheepdog (Dave) and I was wondering if anyone has some grooming tips. I have to spend a lot of time brushing his coat which isn't that long. Probably 4inches long. His coat will still get mats close to the skin around some parts of his body, eg under his chin, chest area and also his legs. I do the usual grooming and have the tools but if anyone has some tips it would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Answer:
I have Afghan hounds, with similar coat issues. If I finish the grooming, and then spritz ShowSheen on my brush and go over the coat, (especially where it mats most) it keeps the mats from reforming so quickly. Also, Show Sheen applied generously on the feet keeps away grass stains. It also makes the hair more elastic, so it doesn't break so much..Your brush will have less broken coat. But, if used too heavily, will appear oily. Question : If your body was a car, would you buy it?
With all the grooming, the cleaning the trimming. Theres the inefficient fuel consumption, the constant fluid replacement, and the weird smell coming from the trunk. What would you add or subtract to make your body better? More efficient? More user friendly?

Answer:
Sure! It's gotten me wherever I wanted to go; picked up it's "share" of pretty "hitch-hikers" along the way; still gets GREAT miles-per-gallon... AND, it's had surprisingly FEW "breakdowns"- considering some of the rough "roads" I've taken it over... So by & large, I certainly got a good deal on THIS model, & would buy it again- in a heartbeat. :)

Question : Can somebody body tell me how many people suppose to be in a wedding besides bridesmaids and groom men?
Can somebody body tell me how many people suppose to be in a wedding besides bridesmaids and groom men?

Answer:
Depends on your culture and traditions. I didn't have anyone in my wedding. No attendants, bridesmaids, not even a maid of honor. Traditionally we have the bridesmaids, groomsmen, maid and/or matron of honor, best man... or woman, ring bearer, flower girls. Oh. And let's not forget the bride and groom.

Question : Do you think we will eventually view body hair on men the same way as body hair on women?
I mean, culturally, we abhor armpit and leg hair on women, most male models you see in magazines are totally shaved, do you think that it will eventually become a cultural requirement as a practice of good grooming for men to shave the way women are expected to or will men who shave their armpits and legs always be considered gay?

Answer:
Not in our lifetime because its a double standard in grooming between men and women.

Question : Where to find a small trimming grooming tool for small dogs?
I bought the normal size trimmer for my 8 pound dog and it works great on her body but I need a smaller trimmer for her legs. The video that teaches you how to groom showed a smaller pair of clippers to do the dogs legs and paws. I can't find a smaller trimmer at Petco or Pet Stuff. Any suggestion on where to look?

Answer:
Here's a website with a few trimmers, I have the "Lola" (near the bottom): http://www.ryanspet.com/ryanspet/category.asp?categoryCode=111& When I groom smaller dogs, I will use the clippers on the body and then sweep them gently over the tops of the legs. Then I comb/brush the legs and use shears to just trim the hair to just 'neaten' it up. Usually shaving the legs will make the legs look super skinny when compared to the body, if you just trim them it balances the look out. Good luck :)

Question : im getting my first horse soon n there are afew questions id like to ask about grooming?
1. how often do you groom a field kept horse? 2. how often do you need to wash there tail 3. to brush the main and tail do you use a main comb or a body brush? 4. do you need to oil the hoofs? 5. do you need a water brush? 6. do you need to strap your horse?

Answer:
You need to grrom a field kept horse very little as it removes the natural oil in their coat - which protects them against the elements! If they are muddy - make sure you grrom properly where tack will go - other than that just remove the mud with a Dandy brush! Tails dont need to be washed often - if they look dirty really! You can use a body brush or mane comb, although a mane comb is used to help plait rather than grooming. A Dandy brush is also good for mane and tail! Hoof oil is one of those things that can be pretty pointless in the winter - I used to do it every now and then to keep condition - and when showing as it looks noce! I have never used a water brush in my life - apart from to clean my boots! You will need sponges though! It is almost impossible to strap a horse with winter coat! It was something I used to do in the summer as it is the only time you can bring up the shine on a short summer coat! Just to clarify strapping, its when you use a body brush and groom really well, with lots of strokes, you also use a metal curry comb to get the dust out of the body brush as you go along! Best of luck!

Question : Body hair shaving problem?
I found this amazing philips shaver for mens body grooming, its working wonders but I tend to have skin irritation and if I dont use hair minimizing lotion, it grows into a boils, especially on my upper back! Is this normal? Is anyone out there having a similar problem?

Answer:
my step-son shaves most of his body hair and has this problem. he found using an abrasive textured cloth or a loofa or a shower scrunchy keeps the dead skin from forming over the hair shaft and no more boils or irritation.
