Lightweight and shaped to fit the hand comfortably, this electric razor delivers a smooth shave either with or without a cord. A floating cutter trims long hairs, and then a thin platinum foil follows along to shave close to the skin. Push a button and the cutter retracts for shaving with the foil alone. Push the button again, and up pops a trimmer for mustache and sideburns. The shaver works worldwide on 110- to 240-volt systems and can be recharged by a 12-volt car or boat battery. It recharges fully in one hour for 30 minutes of shaving time. A green light signals when charging is underway. The shaver carries a two-year warranty against defects (foil and cutter block excluded). --Fred Brack

Great Value
Can't beat the shave for the price. Very affordable and still delivers great results.

Braun 3612 Interface Rechargeable Shaver
Excellent product. This is the second unit that I have purchased - the first one lasted about 8 years and I replaced the foil/cutter twice during that time. The rechargeable battery finally would not charge to full potential and a new foil/cutter was needed, so I purchased another unit thru Amazon for not much more than the cost of the foil/cutter at Walgreens! I would highly recommend this shaver for anyone who wants a rechargeable men's foil type shaver.

Can't finish the job
I've used Braun and Remington shavers for more than 20 years. My 2-day stubble is a good challenge for any electric shaver. This shaver gives me a close shave. I like the combi shave feature. The trimmer is useless. It reminds me of my dog's dew claws (I had those removed). I'm disappointed that Braun didn't pay attention to the trimmer. It means I have to have another tool to finish the job. They should improve the trimmer and offer a free replacement or coupon to owners of the 3612.

Braun 3612 rechargeable shaver
Excellent, flexible shaver. Has pop up device for long hairs, pop up trimmer for side burns and moustache, and gives a very good close shave in third position. Have been using this model for many years.

MANUFACTURER WARRANTY: 1 YEAR

Disappointed
I've been using Panasonic wet/dry shavers for more than 10 years and this is one of the worst models for wet shaving yet. For some reason, the last few models of Panasonic shavers that I've had just haven't held up to wet shaving the way they should. I haven't given up yet on Panasonic, but I'm close.

The best
The best: beter than Braun, Norelco or Phillips. I have thick fast growing hair, so I speak from experience.

He Loves it!
I bought this razor for my 77 year old husband..and he was so thrilled. His old Norelco was falling apart. He could not believe How Fast this razor is and what a good job it does. He thanked me profusely, and I said.....well, You paid for it! He laughed.......good old credit card..... Jan

Go anywhere shave anywhere
I got this for my husband for a Christmas gift. What a wonderful success. He works out of the office at home so he will take it there to work and shave in the morning. When traveling he just packs the charged razor. He comments that it is so much easier and closer. There is a slight time to get use to shaving with electric verse a regular razor but so well worth it. I also got one for my son who is in the army stationed in Afghanistan where they have limited water, he is thrilled with it. Says he isn't shaving with cold water and no mirror.

FORGET IT !!!
Dont get carried away by the fact that if its a costly electric shaver, it can replace your existing razors.
NO IT CANT ...
so get a cheap trimmer which u can use only for trimming as this shaver cannot do anything good other than trimming...which just a simple 10 buck trimmer can do ...
I had burns/cuts etc using this shaver ...
Dont go for it !!

Works, but fragile
I like the overall idea of the system, and the razor itself works well. However, the base wears quickly. The latch holding down the charging arm breaks in a year or so of use. Given how expensive replacing this is, I'd expect it to last a much longer time. Say, for the average life of the razor itself. Problem is, the latch is made of soft plastic when it should be made of either a hard plastic or a metal. If buying a new razor, go with one that doesn't have a push down arm on the cleaner base.

ditto, ditto, ditto
Too bad Braun hasn't fixed this issue. Product works well and keeps my razor fresh, but I am in process of ordering my third unit, due to the same issue with the lock down feature. Seems to last about 2 plus years.

Clean and Charge Replacement
For those of you that have a broken arm that will not lock down, Shaveroutlet has just the top part (Just the arm) for $16.99.

Braun Syncro 7000 series clean & Charge base
It is very unclear from reading the product description that the cleaner cartridge is NOT included with the base. The cartridge must be ordered separately at an additional cost of close to $12. This seems pretty high considering the base itself is almost $50. Worst part is, no prompt comes up saying that the cleaner cartridge is a product to be purchased at this time. So you get the $50 unit, open it, see a gaping hole in the bottom and then have to figure out if the cleaner cartridge was just not included by error or to be purchased separately.
$50 for just the base, although it works, is not good value because it cannot "clean" as the title infers.

Third Time is the Charm?
This is the third base that I have bought for this razor. I love the product, I just hope the latch on this one doesn't fail like the other ones!!

Gift for husband gone bad
I bought this as a gift for my husband based on the great reviews. He was not pleased with the shave the product gave. He said that the razor did not give him a smooth shave on his neck area and it irritated the skin. I ended up returning it.

Great shaver ... can others be better?
This is the best shaver I've ever used, having gone through several Remington and Norelco models. I know Braun makes more expensive units, but I'm not sure how they could be any better than this one. Clean cut, great feel, nifty cleaner/charging base. Great product!

Great Razor
This Razor is great and I don't even use the cleaning system (I bought it on Amazon without it). It has never given me any problems and still works like new. I think I still have 8 years left of use for this thing.

Poor Customer Service
The razor gives a close shave, but I have had problems with Braun's customer service. I have owned the razor for almost a year. After approximately six months, the lights on the charging/cleaning base would not come on and the base would not clean the razor. I called Braun and they told me which service center to send it to and gave me the number so that I could call first. I called the service center, described the symptoms and was instructed to send in the base at my expense. Well...weeks became months with no word from Braun or the service center. I called Braun and they told me to contact the service center. I did as instructed and they told me that the base was fine and that maybe there was a problem with the razor or the charging adaptor and that I would have to send them in at my expense even though I was originally asked to send in only the base. Interestingly enough, I have been using the razor and charger without incident. I am frustrated that they have had my base for months and have not contacted me to tell me their conclusion. I will send in my razor and go back to a blade until I receive my repaired setup; hopefully it will be back in a reasonable amount of time. Though I like the ergonomics and shave of the 8585, I will probably not buy any more Braun products due to the poor attention Braun gives to the buyer after the sale.
Rating :
The most reliable razor I have ever had.
I've had my Braun 8585 for just under 2 years now and I continue to swear by it. This spontaneous purchase raised the bar for what I expect from my morning shave. The unique shape of the foil and the cleaning system were the main draws for me while I was comparison shopping. I decided to spend the extra money and I have no regrets.
I find the cleaning solution (which has a light lemon scent) needs to be changed about once a month, and 3 packs cost somewhere between $15 - 20. The cleaning process is a breeze and takes about 15 - 20 minutes. I just pop it in the stand, push the button, and walk away. The stand lets you know when your razor needs a cleaning or a new container of solution.
I recently ordered a new set of foils & blades, (after about 19-20 months) and while the shave is obviously not nearly as close as it was the day I got it, the shave with dull blades/foils is still better than what I was getting with my past razors. My neck is prone to irritation and nicks, and my stubble is thick, so this has been a huge improvement across the board. If I get a new razor at any point in the next 1-3 years, it will definitely be the Pulsonic or another Braun razor that builds upon the strengths of this model.

Questions & Answers
Question : What is the better product to use when shaving for a guy to eliminate ingrown hairs?
I keep getting ingrown hairs from shaving . I use been a gel for a mach 3 razor , but then I changed to a shaving creme. What do you think is better for you to get stop the ingrown hairs?
Answer:
My husband has this same problem and he uses a cream that is Rx only. The tube is Dark yellow and brown and on it it says Clioquinol 3% with Hydrocortisone 1% cream. I believe its by Qualitest. This cream works very well for him.

Question : Does shaving frequently really cause facial hair to grow faster and thicker?
I'm 17
My facial hair started growing a while ago but it does not grow thick and it grows in patches.
I want that stubble look but not in patches
Will shaving more help the hair grow thicker?
Answer:
Of course not. Shaving cuts off dead hair tissue, it grows from the bottom. Shaving doesn't do anything magical to your hair, any more than just rubbing or massaging your hand across the beard area. Many men have patchy beards, so they just can't have the "stubble" look. It may grow in eventually, but if you have to shave some whiskers daily and there are bare patches, most likely they will stay bare.

Question : Shaving....?
i have many questions
1.is it better to shave in the shower or when your legs are dry
2.is it ok to use soap for shaving cream...if so what kind of soap?
3.if you use Nair will your hair grow back quickly and THICK?
4.is it ok to use "guy" razors
5.how long does it usually take before razors get dull?
Answer:
1)the awnser is by far shave when you're legs are wet. Dry shaving is never good. It cuts skin easier, doesn't shave as closly and causes razor burn.
2)soap is fine. Any kind will work. There are some body washes [one i have that's just a random brand from walmart] that says "replace for you're everyday shaving gel" When I'm out of gel/cream and don't have a lot of time I actually use foam hand soap [sounds weird but just for a quick touch up or if i'm wearing capris it works.]
3)I use nair. Actually no it doesn't. For me it's just like the commertials, the hair grows back lighter. When you use nair it [i don't really know what it does techincly] dissolves the hair folical somewhat so that it comes back softer and less noticable [like when you first get hair on you're legs] instead of comming back thick and noticable when you shave [because you are just cutting it shorter, not really dissolving it you know?]
4) It's probably not as good as a girls razor. Guy razors are more for facial and girls are more for legs/underarms so i'm sure there's a slight difference in how they are built.
5) Um.. ahh I read an exact date. I can't remember. I think it's every few weeks? I read it a long time ago but I have no clue where I would find the awnser now.

Question : What can i use instead of shaving cream?
So i don't own any shaving cream at home and i found out that it's bad to shave your legs when they're dry.
So what can i use instead of shaving cream?
Answer:
lathered soap

Question : How often do you shave your legs, and what shaving cream do you use?
i have been shaving mine about once a week, but i think i need to shave more often. what do you think? i use suave shaving cream (i think) but it says it has extracts of silk, and its really cool.
also what razor do you use? i use the gillette daisy.
my shaving cream comes in a green can and is actually green. i dont know the brand name cause i forgot.
Answer:
i shave about every 2 or 3 days. i use a really nice purple razor. i dont know what kind. and i use either body wash or conditioner not shaving cream. it works the same way.

Question : Is it dangerous to have a shaving cream fight on a hard surface?
It has been a tradition at my school for many years for the seniors to have a big shaving cream fight on the last day of school on our "senior patio" outside. This year the administration has decided to end this because it is not "safe" because most shaving cream is oil based and that could make us slip and hurt ourselves. How can we convince them this is not so dangerous or if you believe it is dangerous, what can we do to keep our shaving cream fight on this patio? Thank you for your help!
Answer:
F the administration, do it anyways. America is such a nation of bed-wetting, cover-my-a**-cause-of -fear-of-being-sued
pansies that it makes me sick to live here. Our founding fathers would be ashamed.
What's the worst they can do? Keep you from your graduation ceremony? At least you would have a fun memory of good times with your friends and keeping a tradition instead of some picture taking pompous parade because you folded and let yourself be bullied and intimidated into choosing safety over fun.
Personally I'd try to get everyone to smuggle a can of shaving cream into the graduation ceremony and have the fight there. Much more of a statement and way cooler.

Question : Does shaving really make your hair grow faster and thicker?
If yes, will it eventually go back to normal if I stop shaving it for a while? If you have one, please give me a scientific explanation for why it does. I can't see how cutting the ends of your hairs can make it grow faster and thicker.
Answer:
It only seems to grow faster because you're having to shave again.
It is not any thicker but only seems that way because the blunt end you shaved off is coming to the surface. The shape and texture of the hair is determined under the skin.
Normal is the condition of the hair all the time, anyway. If you stop shaving, the hair will only be longer, not a different texture.

Question : How can I get shaving cream stains out of upholstery?
So during a crazy night, me and my buddies decided to get crazy with the shaving cream. Now my futon is a mess. How can I get the shaving cream stains out?
Answer:
Simply wipe off with a damp cloth. Keep rinsing the cloth until the stains are gone...

Question : How do I prevent shaving rash and ingrown hairs?
I wet shave with good quality shaving foam but always end up with what look like red spots and a rash. How can i stop this from happening? I also get ingrown hairs.
Answer:
Maybe you might be pressing-on too hard,
(when in a hurry, you are more likely to press-on and hack at your legs, thereby causing razor burn and cuts)
Just let the razor rest on & glide over your legs with only gravity to press it on you. you will still cut the hairs like this, pressing on wont cut the hairs any shorter. ;-)

Question : What is the appropriate age for girls to start shaving?
I'm turning 14 at October 10 and I want to shave my legs. I asked my mom about it and she told me to look up the appropriate age to start shaving in the internet. Thanks.
Answer:
I started at about 14.
I think really you should only do it if you need because you know that in most cases it comes back darker?
Try using a hair removal cream because that way you can avoid getting a shaving rash.
