Norelco shaver cord
Nothing much to review. The cord works just fine. The S/H cost as much as the cord and it still took a few days to arrive. Other than that, everything was fine.
Rating :
It works as advertised
It worked just as it was described. It helped prevent having to purchase a new razor just to replace the cord.
Rating :
Wasn't the right product
Wasn't the right product, information led me to believe otherwise. But they took the return quickly.
Rating :
Perfect fit--good price
Excellent product--I was skeptical because it wasn't original manufacturer, but this was great. Lost a cord during a move and didn't want to replace the razor, so finding this product was great.

If your batteries look like the ones pictured, these are the correct replacements. Each battery is 1.2V & 600mAH
All shavers require soldering to install batteries. if you are not equipped to do this, contact us about our repair services.

Why bother...
I had my 5603x for seven years and replaced the heads once. That worked out to about twelve bucks a year for a great shave! When the batteries finally gave out, I looked into replacing them too, but when I opened the shaver up and saw what would be involved, including the "time to do it", (isn't 'planned obsolescence' great!! )I figured buying a new one would be doing my part to help the economy anyway, so "why bother" with such a tedious task and risk damaging other parts in the process(and then what!?). It would have been just as easy for Norelco to make the shaver with "snap in" batteries (maybe easier!) but they need us to buy new ones for their bottom line!! Hopefully my new one will last as long and perform as well as this one did....RIP 5603x!! If you have the time and patience for such an endeavor, have at it!!

Not for the faint at heart
I got this for my 6885XL. It was down to maybe a 15 minute charge. To concur with others I read about this: it is not for somebody that does not already own their own solder gun.I cheated and cut the old battery leads, trimmed the new battery leads a little, and soldered the two together. It seemed much less damaging to the razor than a complete desolder. I've had two use cycles now and they are working great. Far cheaper than a new $80 one (if you can find the refurbs anymore).
Rating :
Works well but be advised ../.
My Norelco T990 was becoming unusable as one of the 2 batteries wouldn't hold a charge and became unusable even connected via the power cord. The new batteries are fine and my machine works like new hence they are a total success. However be warned, you must solder the new batteries and I had a devil of a time disassembling the shaver to get to the internals.
Rating :
Tricky to install
In order to install these you have to de-solder the old battery at the circuit board, then insert the tabs of the new battery into the slots on the circuit board and solder them in place. Easier said than done, especially if you don't have soldering experience. I highly recommend a solder removal bulb before you attempt this. I didn't have one and it took a while. Also be patient while doing this, a hot soldering iron is murder on plastic parts :) Having gone through this "ordeal" the new batteries don't feel as strong as the original, I may have shorted something during installation. Yeah, Do remember you're working with a hot battery (sparks)!!!
Rating :
Needs electronics savy
I would definitely discourage the average person from attempting a battery pack change at all. If you have a mechanical knack, some electronics experience and access to a tiny soldering pencil (3/32" 700 or 800 degree tip), it is doable. On my Norelco 6885XL, my steps were: 1) Let the shaver run to discharge the old battery pack. 2) Remove 2 screws holding the two halves together and take the two halves apart. 3) Use needle-nosed pliers to slightly bend each side of the spring clips inward, then up. 4) After you get the two spring clips off, use electronics side cutters to cut the leads of the bad battery pack about 3/16" above the plastic cradle and remove the bad battery pack. Do not attempt to de-solder the bad battery pack's leads from the printed circuit board. That takes a lot of expertise and special equipment and if you don't know what you're doing, you'll ruin the PC board. 5) Bend the leads of the new battery pack into a `V' shape so that when the new battery pack is in the cradle, the new leads are against the old leads in the PC board. 6) Solder the new leads to the old leads, re-install the spring clips, put the two halves of the shaver back together, and charge the new battery pack.

Great Razor
I had a previous razor of the same make and model. I also have an expensive Norelco razor too but this Braun 7526 is a great product. It shaves close and also fast which my Norelco doesn't do well. I recommend this.
Rating :
Perfect product for simplifying my life
Pro I have owned this razor for 5 years with no problems or repairs (thank goodness because the word on the street is that Braun is a nightmare with their customer service and repairs). I never have to clean the razor unless on vacation. I don't get razor burn, unlike the "lift and Cut". Battery life has been great, after five years I can get four shaves out of one charge. Smooth skin after 9 to 15 min. of shaving (depending on how lazy I was between shaves) even with hair longer than 1/8 inch. It seems to work better when the wiskers are long. Side burn trimmer is a champ almost strong enough to mow the yard. The width of the trimmer is also great for a once over straight line side burn. The foil collects almost all whiskers so the late dash to work "shave and drive" is not a problem. The cost of the cartridge is very small compared to the feeling of a clean and smooth shave EVERY time. Cons I suggest buying an extra foil for stand by. When the foil wears out (for me, between 6-8 months) it will definitely let you know with red slashes down the neck and face. If you clean or charge your razor at night the super bright blinking blue light might wake you up (could be corrected by closing the door, I know). Overview I know that in this day in age, "you get what you pay for" and for that I can see the cost of this razor and cleaning fluid. I have used many other name brands and believe that this 7526 Braun should be considered the work horse of all time, Like the Ford F-250. I highly recommend this razor to every one that inquires about it and that is why I am writing this review.

Still going strong. Fine shaver
I bought my Model 7570 here six full years ago, and have used nothing else. Excellent quality shaver and perfect reliability on the shaver itself and the cleaning unit. I replace the cutter head every 18 months or so as instructed and replace the cleaner solution every 8 weeks or so.
The cost to own this, including maintenance is approximately
$180 for the shaver (back then), $158 for cleaning solution over 6 years, and $75.00 for three replacement heads to date , equalling approximately $ 69 per year for everything. Not bad, considering the cleaning solution is completely optional. I think i spent far more than that on razor blades, but it's been so long since i've purchased a razor, i'm not even sure how much they cost these days. I prefer the electric shaver to a blade, and it does the job probably 95% as well, without the annoying shaving cream and nicks.
Rating :
Good Shaver but Flawed
This model gives a good, overall shave. I still have trouble on my neck area, but this has been typical of any electric shaver I've owned. The REAL reason I bought this was the self cleaning system. It works as advertised, but like so many other reviews I've seen, the locking mechcanism that supplies power to the razor, while its cleaning failed. There are a couple of work-arounds, but for $100, I expect the unit to perform longer than a year.

This is my husband's second Braun Shaver. His first one he had for 10 years and dropped it.He loves it, and the advantage of self cleaning is great to him.He states that he will continue using the Braun 7526, until they are no longer made.

Question : Grooming an Old English Sheepdog?
I've got an Old English Sheepdog (Dave) and I was wondering if anyone has some grooming tips. I have to spend a lot of time brushing his coat which isn't that long. Probably 4inches long.
His coat will still get mats close to the skin around some parts of his body, eg under his chin, chest area and also his legs.
I do the usual grooming and have the tools but if anyone has some tips it would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
Answer:
I have Afghan hounds, with similar coat issues.
If I finish the grooming, and then spritz ShowSheen on my brush and go over the coat, (especially where it mats most) it keeps the mats from reforming so quickly. Also, Show Sheen applied generously on the feet keeps away grass stains. It also makes the hair more elastic, so it doesn't break so much..Your brush will have less broken coat. But, if used too heavily, will appear oily.

Absorbine Show Sheen Hair Polish & Detangler

Question : Has anyone used the Phillip's Body groom?
Has anyone used the Phillip's Body groom?
Answer:
I got one yesterday and my wife helped me shave my chest, back and groin area (front AND back). I never knew how much better I would feel without a bunch of hair and it was kinda nice to have her doing it, too. I would highly recommend it.

Question : Male body hair grooming:how much to do?
I have seen some hairy men who have shaved off bits of their body hair leaving the rest around it untrimmed and it looks awful. No subtlety at all. Yet chest hair can get straggly and messy looking and could benefit form trimming the way models do in magazine adverts.
I do not like the idea of loads of lotions: for girls that is fine. Have you seen a man with aface that has had scrubs etc? Looks unmanly.
Has anyone got a good system for trimming short chest hair to keep it looking good?
Whay do you think nshoudl be shaved, what should be trimmed? I'd lvoe to have a thick pubic bush , would not shave that. What do models do?
sorry, spell check is not very literate
Answer:
You can just simply use hair clippers to trim your chest hair on a number 2 or 3 depending on your chest hair length. I use it to trim my underarm hair too, that gets messy, so trimming gets rid of the deodorant that you can't wash out (I shower every day before anyone mentions it). I cannot see the attraction of shaving your pubes. It looks so effeminate - who wants to look like a pre-pubescent boy again - not me for one. As for making it look thicker I'm up for tips on that one too. I use a razor to shave me nads and never had a problem with itchy b***s. I agree though who want "sculptured body hair it's not like we're trying to get the effect of a topiary garden is it?

Question : What's the best way to groom body/chest hair?
I recently bough an electric shaver, and I was wondering if it would be appropriate to use to get rid of chest/body hair?
I know that there are devices that are geared specifically for this, but I was wondering if guys sometimes just use a regular electric shaver for the removal of body hair?
Answer:
wax it but if your a wimp shave it. it'll grow back quick if you shave it though.

Question : How should I present grooming issues to my girlfriend?
I have recently started a new relationship and I really enjoy being with her. We have a lot of chemistry, a good sex life, and communicate with each other very well.
I have one concern and it stems from her personal grooming habits of body and pubic hair. She has some body hair that I would prefer be removed; and as far as pubic hair, she has not had much experience in the bedroom and does not groom in the area; I am not asking for total clean shaved, but trimmed would be a nice improvement. I am also more than willing to trim myself in that region as well.
If it were any other aspect of our relationship, I would feel comfortable bringing it up nicely/directly. However she already has an issue with being self conscience about her body.
Is this something I am going to have to live with, or is there a tactful way I might approach the subject that would not hurt her feelings?
Answer:
That is a tough one. I would say you are probably going to her her feelings either way you go if she is sensitive. I would focus on letting her know what turns you on...i.e. being a little more clean shaven, and don't let it sound like you are complaining about her specifically. Tell her you find her sexy but everyone has preferences. Better yet, start the conversation by asking her what her preferences are. Good luck.

Question : What is your most essential thing in your grooming kit?(Just a "fun" Question)?
Mine is my Jelly Scrubber!
I use the wider ridged side to give my horse a bath(with soap) and the finer ridged side to curry my horse, and it's soft enough to use on his body, face and legs and get all the loose hair off too!
It's my favorite thing! What's yours?
:]
Answer:
Favorite thing is the hard brush because I'm lazy and only use that if the horse isn't dirty

Question : How do I stop my cat constanly grooming/cleaning to the point he has chewed his hair off one of his legs?
He's a ragdoll. Quite needy and has also lost weight and shedding hair quite dramatically from the mid to the back top part of his body. (Has been wormed and fleaed)
Answer:
If your cat hasn't been seen by a vet recently, then you need to take him in for a check up. He has a variety of symptoms and they may or may not be related. The excessive grooming could be due to parasites, inhaled allergens, food intolerance or even stress. If your cat isn't feeling well, this could make him stressed.
The articles below on skin allergies and food intolerance have lots of information which you may find helpful.

The average cat spends over a third of their waking day grooming. Not only does it keep their coat in good condition, it's also very therapeutic in relieving tension. However, if a cat is feeling stressed, they will use grooming as a diversionary activity - it's far more comforting than facing up to the problem. If the vet thinks it's stress related, he might suggest fitting him with an Elizabethan collar to prevent him from grooming. A Feliway plug in might help, as they emit an aroma that cats find comforting. (You'll need to use it for at least 3 weeks to see the full benefits.) If he'll allow you to groom him, spend more time doing this, as not only will it strengthen the bond between you, but it may reduce his desire to do it. Try also diverting his attention to something else, such as toys to see if this will help break the habit. Bach Flower Remedies can be helpful in treating stress or other emotional problems in cats. The web article below explains which ones to use and how to administer them.

Hope he will be okay.
